The project had initiated the sharing of knowledge and experience between Croatian and Slovenian partners in the field of high technologies regarding street lighting, which was previously nonexistent. The new system reduced the consumption of electrical energy, greenhouse gas emissions, as well as maintenance costs of public lighting infrastructure, and increased energy efficiency and illuminance of the streets. The added value of the project was evident in the development of special GIS application for public lighting, with advanced capabilities for planning future investments and predicting their impact on the environment, ie. on reducing CO2 emissions.
