The project partners noted, that they must take measures in order to solve problems, which are slowing down their social and economic development. One of such problems were the illegal landfills. The cross-border effect was reflected in undertaking joint initiatives and the cooperation of the municipal \/ city departments, with the aim of rehabilitation and prevention of emergence of new illegal landfills. The project has implemented the activities in such a way, that it took into account the lessons learned and experience gained through the already implemented projects in both regions.
