<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">Karst phenomena, or karst formations, are characteristic for most of the areas in the Istrian County and consequently for Croatia and Slovenia and Italy. The co-financing of this project created adequate protection of karst on the border area of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia. The implementation of this project provided cross-border co-operation of institutions responsible for the research and monitoring of karst as well as its improvement. The greatest added value of this project was the establishment of a joint supervision of the karst area, which extends across the territory of both countries.
