The Minister for Development Strategic Projects and Cohesion Alenka Smerkolj gave a speech in which she expressed the belief that the cooperation in the programme will help eliminate the border barriers and strengthen the cross-border cooperation. In the programme period 2014-2020, the successful European territorial cooperation between Slovenia and its neighboring countries will continue, in which various applicants may realize their ideas and are able to implement sustainable solutions through the cooperation with their cross-border partners.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Within the frame of the Cooperation Program between Slovenia and Croatia, approved by the European Commission on 1 October 2015, <strong>46 million Euro funding from the European Regional Development Fund are available<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The participants were addressed by representatives of the two partner countries. The opening speech was held by <strong>Bojan \u0160rot<\/strong> the mayor of Celje municipality. Participants were also welcomed by <strong>dr.sc. Jak\u0161a Puljiz <\/strong>deputy minister of Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds from Croatia, representative of the EC <strong>Gianluca Comuniello <\/strong>and<strong> m.sc. Nina Seljak <\/strong>Head of the Managing Authority<strong>.<\/strong><br \/>\nIn continuation of the event Programme Manager <strong>Vesna Resinovi\u010d<\/strong> presented the Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Slovenia-Croatia in the period 2014-2020. The Head of the Cross-border programmes management division and at the same time Deputy Head of the Managing Authority <strong>Dimitrij Pur<\/strong> outlined the differences between the programme periods 2014-2020 and 2007-2013. <strong>Tadej Ba\u0161kovi\u010d<\/strong> Head of the Joint Secretariat then provided the first information about the Open Call. The Open Call in the frame of the programme will be published on <strong>15 January 2016<\/strong>. The workshops for applicants are foreseen in February 2016. The first deadline for submitting project proposals is <strong>11 March 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event concluded with the presentation of thre successfully implemented projects from the period 2007-2013, <strong>Parenzana, Viri \u017eivljenja<\/strong> and <strong>Za\u0161\u010dita in re\u0161evanje<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event for which live broadcast was also provided was attended by around 300 people keynote speakers from both countries, programme partners and interested applicants from the programme
