Kick – off meeting of project ZELENO ŽELIMO

A meeting organized by the lead partner of the project Slovene Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry – Institute of Agriculture and Forestry Murska Sobota (KGZMS) was held on 18th and 19th September at an idyllic location in the vicinity of Murska Sobota (Tourist Farm Tremel, Bokrači), which offered its partners extraordinary hospitality outside the city, with an excellent offer of home-made culinary delights and the hinterland experience, which is also one of the objectives of the project.

The ZELENO ŽELIMO project was approved in the context of the 2nd deadline of the Open Call of the Interreg V-A Slovenia-Croatia Cooperation Program and will last from September 2017 to February 2020. Alongside the leading partner of the project KGZMS other partners involved are ITC – Innovation Technology Cluster Murska Sobota, the Marianum Veržej Institute, the Institute for the environment and tourism Dobrovnik / Környezeti és Idegenforgalmi Intézet Dobronak, the City of Ludbreg, the Croatian Chamber of Economy – Varaždin County Chamber, Varaždin Tourist Board and 4 associate partners, 2 on each side of the border.

The main goal of the project is to create and implement new tourist contents in the area, based on active inclusion of heritage, in conjunction with the content from the hinterland, thus enabling the target groups to make new experiences and, on the other hand, more efficient marketing of the mentioned, through sustainable tourism.

The first day of the meeting was devoted to the rules of project implementation and the way of work and communication between partners. This is precisely the basis for ensuring the smooth implementation of the project in accordance with the guidelines given in the implementation documentation of the program. The second day was dedicated to the workshops and preparation for the first deliverables of the project, which is an analysis of the area with the action plan, animation workshops and the most important development of a tourist product with realization of investments in objects of registered cultural heritage.
