Project summary

Specific cross-borders objectives of the operation were: enhancing cooperation and the transfer of knowledge and good practice between Croatian and Slovenian organizations working with children, concerning antidiscrimination, child participation and cultural collaboration; promoting the exchange of children and activity leaders from Children’s councils, Croatian societies SND, and Slovenian associations ZPM, with the aim of networking and developing joint initiatives for enhancing the lives of children in border-region communities; enhancing integration of children into social activities; raising awareness of the local inhabitants on the importance of co-joined life in the region by excepting and respecting multiculturalism and human rights; enhancing the mobility of artists and cultural collaboration between Croatia and Slovenia; achieving new cultural services. Added value of the project was reflected in the developed partnerships and collaborations, as well as the transfer of knowledge and experience, through which human resources and social capital are developed. The project connected 39 civil society organizations in Croatia and Slovenia, and by jointly carrying out activities. The results had a larger impact and included a greater number of beneficiaries. The project contributed to the collaboration of the local community and Children’s councils, social integration of vulnerable groups of children and development of participation and active citizenship, which enhanced the satisfaction and efficiency of citizens in the region. Outputs of the campaign „100 ljudi, 100 ćudi“, were: 20 workshops for educators; 40 workshops for children and the youth; international camp „100 ljudi, 100 ćudi“; campaign slogan; 2 graffiti painted in public areas of 2 towns in the project region; slogan song produced; research on stereotypes and prejudices of children towards children of different nationalities, iconducted over 16 towns with the sample of 1.200 children; bilingual research report. Outputs of cultural exchange and collaboration activities were: one minute film revue and contest for film makers, with the selection of most original films; posters and invitations for the show; bilingual catalogue with films and authors; DVD with selected films; seminar on film movements of the nationalities in the region; children’s music festival in Varaždin, along with the two-category contest; posters and a bilingual booklet about the festival; CD with the festival songs. Outputs of informing the target population and public on the project were: kick-off meeting; promotional material (bilingual banners, notebooks, pencils, folders); final report on the project; final conference on project results.
