Project summary

Established cross-border cooperation guarantees a sustainable contribution to the preservation of an important cultural heritage in the entire project area. The aim of the project was to preserve and revive the cultural heritage of the area, and after the completion of the project, to create a renovated cultural content in accordance with the strategies for the preservation of cultural heritage. In this way not only that the architectural heritage is kept, but it also has huge potential and the possibility of developing a living heritage, which directly depends on the participation of the populations on both sides of the border. The establishment of a common cultural heritage management and the model of a cross-border park. The cross-border cooperation is essential in achieving the expected results of the project in the sense, that the area Haloze – Zagorje until recently was a part of a same country, and is also associated with a common cultural identity, similarity of language and lifestyle. Project activities through revitalization of cultural heritage and to preserve the natural heritage, which knows no boundaries, and reestablished good cross-border relations. The project aims to mitigate the impact of the border, maintain the cultural heritage for our future generations, and protect the natural heritage of the border area. Without the cross-border cooperation it is not possible to achieve the set goals and establish a sustainable environmental protection.
