Project summary

Specific cross-borders objectives of the operation were: analysis of existing programs to increase energy efficiency and adaptation to poor households, training of target groups – with knowledge and skills for implementing practical energy efficiency measures in households, identifying the most common causes of energy inefficiency in households, perform practical measures and inform poorer households, defining the threshold of eligibility for help to poorer households – selection of buildings/ households, to which help in the form of tips for saving energy will be provided, project partners were made joint recommendations (a flyer and a manual) to improve energy efficiency, which was presented to interested stakeholders (Centre for social services, Red cross, Caritas, local actors), which can help the poorest, coordinate the key stakeholders in a common effort to create long term solutions and network to perform long term services. Cross-border co-operation of all major actors, professional services of local communities, experts from regional institutions of environmental protection and development promotion, resulted in sharing of expertise skills, experiences and best practices on energy efficiency in poor households. Enriched knowledge of the joint cross-border cooperation was through education and awareness transferred to the target group. The added value of the project was obtained additional cognition and knowledge on energy efficiency in poor households, which the partners gained with joint developing, implementing and financing of the project. In aspect of reducing energy costs and sustainable consumption, pollution control and new approaches to addressing environmental impacts have a positive influence on social-economic development. Main outputs of the project were: bilingual joint report, report on Energy audit of residential units, report on thermal imaging, report on Energy audit of district heating, project documentation for energy reconstruction of residential buildings, conceptual design for reconstruction of district heating, technical manual – catalog, workshops on energy efficiency in households, evaluation report of the project, web site of the project, created CGR of the project.
