FIDES project aimed at mapping of regional potentials, for the development of the involved regions. Activities were set to improve the existing services of supportive environment. Coaching and consulting on intellectual property rights and their optimum embedding into technology companies’ business models, supported innovative ideas to be put on the market. The combination of partners and all other support organizations in the regions enabled the setup of a database of promising ideas, its promotion and long term use. IPA can enable an important topic to be brought into focus (intellectual property) which has no visible role in entrepreneurship promotion today, but is crucial for cooperation of academia and industry. IPA can enable regional potentials (innovative ideas) to be brought to life. At the same time, regional innovative potential has been identified and suitable policy recommendations to decision-makers presented for action after the year 2013.
