Project summary

Specific cross-borders objectives of the operation were: the improvement of environmental awareness on the cross-border area; reduction of environmental risks and environmental pollution, and also joint planning and monitoring of natural resources – water across the border. Added value of the project was: a common approach to the solving of cross-border problems of water management; innovative approach in sewage and wastewater treatments in scattered settlements of rural area; networking and cross-border participation of the local and regional participants and co-principal, and the exchange of experience; positive impact on the sustainable development of the area, tourism development and economic and social cohesion; improvement of living conditions of population with the preservation of natural habitats and biodiversity. The outputs of the project were: the strategies of protection for water resources in cross border area; elaboration of project documentation and supporting projects and studies for improvement of drainage systems; cross-border networks of information centers; monitoring of waters; purchase of a boat; promotional material; visits to the examples of good practice; publication of scientific articles; workshops; press and professional conferences.
