GREEN LANDSCAPE

Project summary

The main objective of the project GREEN LANDSCAPE was to improve the economic growth and competitiveness of agricultural products in the border region of NE Slovenia (Podravska, Pomurska) and NW Croatia (Varaždinska, Međimurska), on the basis of innovative and comprehensive approach to the promotion and trade of heterogeneous rural agricultural crops and products (in hereinafter referred to as: products) with more value. On this basis, the project had the following specific objectives: with comprehensive and innovative market / promotion system, enable the growth of the number of SMEs, specialized farms and associations in the field of agricultural products of higher quality; on the basis of specific promotional activities in the field and exchange of good practice, to encourage the cross-border business cooperation in the field of agriculture, which is especially important, because of the Croatian accession to the EU and the fall of administrative boundaries, which allow free movement of agricultural products; with new promotional channels (Green points, online marketplace) and extensive promotional campaigns in major urban centers, specialized trade fairs and tourist centers, increase the visibility of agricultural products; to educate and promote the local residents and producers about the development of new opportunities for the local population in rural areas. Joint implementation of the project on the Slovenian and Croatian side has provided a total, transparent and balanced development of regions, as well as increasing the capacity of producers of agricultural products for the efficient production and sale of products on the open market. This was achieved with the exchange of information, experience and best practice, conducted on the basis of very concrete actions. The added value of cross-border cooperation and the use of EU funds were the secure, developed and implemented strategies of advanced market / promotion system, for the support of the Croatian and Slovenian producers of agricultural products on the open market.
