PEDO TUR

Project summary

The project with the acronym PEDO TUR was performed (April 2011 – March 2013), under the cross-borders operative program IPA SI-HR 2007-2013. The central goal of the project was to develop a new trademark of a cross-border tourist destination, which offers innovative tourist programs and services, targeted towards the specific groups of tourists: children, youth, families, and people with disabilities or mental health issues. During the project, many of its goals were realized. Our common goal was to develop a greater social involvement, to establish the equality of opportunity, and to enlarge the offer of tourism, sport, and recreation of people with special needs. We wanted to offer something new, and not just the standard recreational-tourist programs, but rather to introduce experiences, which let the participants get various experiences and learn something about themselves, the world and life itself. During the project, 864 children, youth, and grown-ups were involved into the project free of charge. They contributed beautiful artistic creations for the HO-PE-TOUR play contest. The programs are an important contributor to the promotion and development of the specialized tourist offer in the cross-borders region.
