ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
DEVELOPMENT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP

POM

Project summary

Project activities were a number of set challenges, dealing with (self)employment, social integration into the labor market and teaching of young people, because the latter factors are too complex to be solved by one institution alone. Experience shows, that it is therefore necessary to approach the issues on multiple levels, in the form of national, local-regional and international partnerships. Innovation of the project is reflected in setting up a network of cross-border employment service and the desire for a common approach to solve the problem of unemployment. With the establishment of a virtual center, tools and programs were offered, for reducing the lack of education and informativity of young people in the field of entrepreneurship, and it contributed to raising the level of basic knowledge and skills, especially raising awareness of the importance and opportunities of entrepreneurship, and the exploitation of alternative sources of income. Support services are closer to the local surroundings (initiative point, or the user’s address), where the right information at the right time in the right place are the key to the success of an individual. The Internet, in a constant battle with time, has become an important source of information in all spheres of human life. Our virtual center provides 24-hour access to current information, content, tools and materials that enable learning literally from the chair, which is certainly an innovation, especially in rural areas. The developed model of network for the development initiative of young people, that the labor market operates within the Public employment services and partner organizations, provides young people comprehensive education in advanced training programs and provides an alternative and complementary solution to the existing system by encouraging (self)employment within the framework of the existing measures and mechanisms, within the public employment service in Slovenia and Croatia. With this systematic and comprehensive model of the labor market in Slovenia and Croatia, support was given to: the promotion of creating new enterprises established by young people, business expansion of these enterprises and the transfer of good practice, networking and cooperation.
