PUT-UP ISTRIA

Project summary

Specific cross-borders objectives of the operation were: the presentation of joint development vision, and the concept of Istria as a whole with rounded areas of traffic, tourism and agricultural areas, business zones and nature; setting spatial indications and starting points for the definition of key development contents, for the whole of Istria and especially for the rounded spatial units – coast, border area, and the developing cities (Buzet, Pula and Koper); joint planning through promotion of joint planning on the local level, and among development partners. Added value of the project was reflected in joint consideration of this area in a prerequisite, to create a better designed European area. Outputs of the project were: an expert working group; a joint concept on Istria’s spatial development including traffic, tourism, agriculture, economic and natural development concept; 2 joint cross-border presentations of a joint concept on the development of Istria and certain substantial packages; 2 studies on spatial guidelines and starting points for the determination of key development contents, for spatial units of the coast and frontier area; a study on the spatial guidelines and starting points for the determination of key development contents and the linkage of Kopar and Buzet; a study trip; a brochure in the form of a recap of specific guideline preposition, containing Buzet’s traffic and tourism; a preposition about coastal spatial planning in the City of Pula; a public presentation of coherent expert fundaments for spatial planning of units: coastal and frontier area and the cities (Buzet, Pula and Koper); a professional seminar “Sustainable spatial management with the objective of environmental protection“; a project brochure in three languages titled “IN (SEA) SIDE ISTRA”; 3 types of flyers with various content; 4 general public conferences; internet web site and project logo; a final evaluation report.
