Project summary

The primary purpose of the project was the systematic preservation of the craft heritage, by training new carriers of artisanal crafts and knowledge, and the preservation of traditional cuisine. This represents an important contribution for raising the competence for employment in the program area. It is an important aspect of the social inclusion of vulnerable social groups. We resuscitated empirical knowledge of older persons, self-employed housekeepers and those who have artisanal crafts. The objective of the cooperation was to contribute to the preservation of the European cultural heritage through the transfer of knowledge from older to younger generations. With this project, we have achieved the following specific objectives: we have developed a training program and conducted the education of young people in the field of cultural heritage – the artisanal crafts and traditional cuisine; we have educated young people to understand the concept of significant cultural heritage / heritage of the local community in the project area; we have created educational learning forms, which contribute to the sustainable conservation of cultural heritage; we enabled older people to transfer empirical knowledge to others – the younger generations in the form of workshops; we conducted a joint promotion of heritage in the project area, with a common web site, a multilingual brochure, cross-border cultural events, various cultural events and video clip of artisanal crafts and traditional cuisine; and we enabled the socially vulnerable people to explore the wider social environment: free transportation, education, and socializing.
