WELLNESS ISTRA

Project summary

Specific purpose of the project was the integration of the top quality typical products of agriculture, culinary delights, natural and cultural heritage of Istria into a common cross-border natural tourist destination Wellness Istria. This was an important and innovative approach which has created a wellness product that will not be limited to the hotel thermal and spa services, but will become a wellness product of a set of top individual products of the new cross-border tourist destination – WELLNESS ISTRA. The goal has been reached with the analysis of the offers and demands for wellness products and the study of the possibilities and interest of including the products in the tourist sustainable wellness package. Integrated sustainable wellness products were formed on the basis of the analysis. The quality of the services is important for the leading edge offers, which have to be comparable on the both sides of the border. That is why the project included seminars for the tourist workers on both sides, who worked on the new integrated tourist products. The project has established a shared integrated promotion of the destination in Istria, and also less distant, traditional and more demanding markets. A shared presentation event of the new packages was organized – launch event. The partners of the project presented themselves on the two tourist fairs, and organized a promotional tour for tourist operators. The biggest event, organized by the project partners took place in May and June 2011, under the name “from wine growers to olive farmers”, extending on both sides of the border.
