Project summary

Specific cross-borders objectives of the project were: improving the waste management system in the project area; improving the waste management system reduces the amount of waste that is leaving for the landfill; reducing the costs of transport and deposit of municipal waste, which directly lowers the fees that users pay for the disposal of municipal waste; increasing the awareness among the local population, about the importance of separately collecting and recycling of the waste. Added value of the project was reflected in educated residents in the cross-border area about the importance of separate collection of waste in order to protect the environment and the exploitation of secondary raw materials. Outputs of the project were strengthening of cooperation between the partners, increased number of educated residents on the need for separately collection of waste and procured equipment and built infrastructure for efficient waste management.
